Artillery Miner: ten hours to unlock everything, and nothing behind it
An incremental where you shell ore cubes with 33 weapons. Genuinely satisfying, right up to the moment it simply stops.

A black-and-white merge game where you colour in what you grew yourself. Thirty-two reviews, thirty-two positive.

You begin on a blank page. Literally: an empty world, drawn in ink, without colour and without anything in it.
The whole game consists of filling it.

The mechanic belongs to merge games, and here it serves discovery rather than scoring.
You combine elements to obtain new ones, with over 150 combinations to find. And the studio slips in a detail that changes everything: many combinations do not merely look good, they hide little secrets.
In other words, you are not merging to fill a grid, you are merging to see what appears. That is the difference between a puzzle game and a curiosity game, and Garden Ink clearly chooses the second.
Here is the second idea, and it is the one that gives the game its title.
The world is your personal colouring book. You unlock new palettes and colour whatever you want, however you want.
That is clever for two reasons. First, the black and white you start from makes every addition of colour meaningful: it is not one decoration among many, it is a decision. Second, it creates an attachment that cozy games often reach for without achieving. A garden you coloured yourself is not the studio's garden, it is yours.

Minigames, puzzles and secrets scattered around. Solving them unlocks new colours, new decorations and new minigames, which closes the loop cleanly.
And there are creatures to discover, which gives you a reason to keep merging beyond the graphical pleasure.
The rest is a matter of atmosphere: gentle music, playful sounds, no pressure of any kind. No failure, no timer, save anytime.
The game comes from Kranich, a solo developer, and launched the day before yesterday at 8.77 euros.
The reception is clear: 32 reviews, 32 positive. It is a small sample, but a clean sheet is still a clean sheet.
The reservation is obvious and I am not going to pretend otherwise: this is a small game, short by nature, and the pleasure will run out when you have found the 150 combinations. That is not a flaw, it is a format. For nine euros you buy a few calm evenings and a pretty thing you made yourself.
And for once, a cozy game with a genuine graphical idea rather than one more pastel palette.

What does your garden look like once coloured? Screenshots are expected on the InsertCoins Discord.
